IV Infusion Skin Lightening Therapy
Intravenous skin lightening involves the infusion of a particular antioxidant made from amino acids and vitamin C. These antioxidants naturally occur in our bodies. The amino acid (which cannot be named due to Australian advertising regulations) works together with vitamin C to block the production of skin pigment.
Amino acids and vitamin C are given together via intravenous infusion over several sessions to lighten the skin.
Combination of IV infusion skin lightening therapy with other treatment types is recommended to yield best results. Talk to our cosmetic physician for your customised treatment plan.
Our doctor will have a face-to-face consultation and health assessment with you prior to treatment. This provides opportunity to discuss your concerns or questions.
We highly recommend that you come for treatment with clothing that will make the insertion of cannula easier and less staining incidents, e.g., sleeveless or loose-fitting clothes (sleeve will need to be pushed above elbow). You may also bring a jacket or shawl to keep warm.
It is important to keep yourself hydrated prior to IV infusion skin lightening therapy. Drink plenty of water. If you are unsure of the appropriate amount of hydration needed, please consult our doctor.
This is a minimally invasive procedure provided by our cosmetic doctor that is safe, short and suitable for all skin types.
During your consultation before your first treatment, our cosmetic physician will assess your suitability for this IV infusion therapy and discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
The treatment involves the insertion of the cannula into a vein. The amino acids and vitamin C combination is then slowly infused into the vein.
No downtime with minimal pain. Treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
Bruising at the injection site, similar to what you would experience when having a blood test.
The number of treatments required varies and depends on the patients and their expected outcomes. Approximately 10 to 12 treatments are a recommended course, depending upon the skin’s response. Initial infusions are done more frequently, approximately once every 2 weeks for 3 months. Maintenance is then advised at every 1 to 2 months to sustain long term results.
Results are not permanent and varies from person to person.
Please note that this is NOT a skin bleaching treatment.
Treatment is not be suitable if you have thyroid, liver and kidney diseases.
Our cosmetic physician will assess suitability to undergo this treatment. Please book in for an initial consult and our cosmetic physician will address your concerns.
