HAND REJUVENATION

The appearance of our hands are a dead giveaway to our age and lifestyles. Being the most neglected part of the body, it is no wonder that our hands age over time for the work they do and their exposure to sun damage, environmental pollution, toxins, physical activities and poor lifestyle habits. The aging of the hands is characterised by the loss of dermal elasticity and subcutaneous tissue atrophy, which makes veins, tendons and bony structures of the hands to become more noticeable and aesthetically unpleasant.

At Ren Cosmedical, non-surgical means are used for hand rejuvenation treatment. Dermal fillers, lasers and/or sclerotherapy may be used in combination to treat each of the signs of ageing hands.

  • Dermal fillers are used to fill and plump these empty spaces temporarily in the hands for a youthful and smoother looking hands. Dermal fillers are non-surgical cosmetic procedures where substances containing hyaluronic acid (HA) or collagen stimulators are injected into and under the skin to restore volume and fullness, smooth out lines, enhance shallow contours or improve appearance of recessed scars.
  • BroadBand Light (BBLᵀᴹ) by Sciton® is used to repair the sun-damaged skin on the hands.  BBLTM device is used to deliver pulses of light and gently heat the upper layers of the skin. BBLTM technology is excellent at improving the age spots, uneven skin texture, skin laxity and small veins on the back of the hands.
  • Sclerotherapy is used to treat the prominent and unsightly hand veins. A series of tiny injections are made into the vein to close the diseased veins and to allow them to be absorbed by the body. Topical anaesthetic cream may be used to reduce pain.

Our doctor will have a face-to-face consultation and facial assessment with you prior to treatment. This provides opportunity to discuss your concerns or questions.

Please advise our doctor if you are regularly taking anti-coagulation therapy, have any auto-immune or skin condition.

If you are on blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, you will need to avoid these medication one week before treatment day.

  • Dermal filler treatment – Small amount of dermal filler will be injected to the back of hands by our cosmetic physician using cannula. Pain is minimal with the help of numbing cream or local anaesthetic.
  • BroadBand Light (BBLᵀᴹ) therapy – BBL’s unique advanced dual-lamp technology is turned on and glides over the back of the hands. Various wavelengths of bright light energy is emitted into the skin at controlled depths, (the light is attracted to different colours in the skin) gently heating the top layers of skin. The light then destroys spots and pigmented lesions from the skin, whilst restoring the skin to its natural healthy condition. This is a faster, gentler and safer treatment skin that is well-tolerated by patients. A cooling device is used together to reduce patient’s discomfort.
  • Sclerotherapy – Treatment involves a series of tiny injections made into the veins on back of hands to close the diseased veins and to allow them to be absorbed by the body.

No downtime with minimal pain. Treatment takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes, depending on type of treatment(s) and complexity.
